EmpowerWISM 2023: the finalists were Itselectric, Nina and Whee!

Electric cargo bike subscription service Whee! has won the Empower Women in Shared Mobility (EmpowerWISM) 2023 programme.

Founder Kari Anne Solfjeld Eid received the award at an online ceremony last night.

EmpowerWISM organiser Movmi said the company's "vision for a car-free sustainable future inspired the entire judging panel".

Over the next 12 months, Whee! will receive a mentoring package, access to the entire EmpowerWISM network (partners, judges and Movmi) and will be invited to different opportunities to showcase its work.

The company will also be featured in ITS International, which is proud to be a partner of the event.

Tiya Gordon, co-founder and COO of kerbside electric vehicle charging firm Itselectric and Simony Cesar from Nina, a consultancy which combats gender violence in cities, were the runners-up.

Movmi said: "All three finalists deserved to win for their amazing contributions to the shared mobility space, unfortunately there could only be one."

EmpowerWISM is open to companies which have been in business for fewer than five years, have at least one woman co-founder or executive, and offer a product or service that falls within the shared mobility industry.
