“Testing and field trials have been extremely encouraging, with an increase of up to 25% when jetting fibre optic cable,” said product manager Richard Hicks.

The product provides 40% lower coefficient of friction than the previous Silicore lining, he adds, meaning that “installations go quicker, saving companies and municipalities a lot of time and money”.

Founded in 1971 in Middlesboro, KY, Dura-Line was the first to develop conduit for the telecoms industry, says Tim Grimsley, vice president of global customer engagement. “We were the first to manufacture duct with pre-installed pull lines or power/fibre cables. We were the first to integrate longitudinally-ribbed lining into our duct, and so much more. These are commonplace in our industry now thanks to Dura-Line’s pioneering spirit.”
